Volunteers are always needed & appreciated!

You can put up flyers in your area, make crafts to sell thru our website to help raise funds for the dogs' care, donate goods for our Summer yard sales at the kennel, help feed and let the dogs out for turn-outs at the kennel.  Just call the kennel - or e-mail us - and let us know you'd like to help!

Volunteers always needed to help man booths at Meet-and-Greet events; helping set up, answer questions about Greyhounds, and help break down after the event is done - see the Events calendar for what events are coming up.

Hand them out wherever you can - especially for Meet-and-Greets!

Is there an event in your area that you'd like to represent N.G.A. at?
Events like Home & Garden shows are great for meet-and-greets - contact us please!

  • We are in need of support most particularly for turn-out times here at the kennel. Turn-out times are 6-8am, 11am-1pm, 5-7pm and 9-11 pm - help would be appreciated any day of the week, but is most especially needed for the last two turn-outs of the day!
  • Please note, if you are doing volunteer time for class credit/"job experience" or the like, stopping in to take dogs for extended walks does not count.  Not just because these dogs are sprinters (meaning they cannot just start going on extended walks but need to build up to it carefully) but also because walking dogs is what folks do for fun.  For volunteering to count for credit a true service is needed.  Those needed services are help with turn-outs, cleaning the kennel and yards, or helping set-up/take-down the tag sales.  Thank you kindly for understanding!
  • We also look for people to work on socialization with the dogs at our site in St Albans - especially the shy ones that need gentle handling.  Please contact someone at the kennel regarding your experience and interest.
