Elvy (was Marigold)

2011-03-20

Hello Dorothy and Donna;
Just wanted to let you know that everything is going well.
We wished to let you know that we have changed Marigold's name to Elvy.

Elvy is settling in quickly; the cats are quiter around her, and she around them. She really loves her bed and small room.
Television is still a bit strange to Elvy.  She keeps looking around as to who may talking.....it's pretty funny to watch her expressions, and how she expects our mouths to be moving instead of sound coming out of a box.

She sleeps through the night, loves her walks, and surely lets a person know when she wants to eat!  No problem with the appetite.

We got a new gate for the hallway entering the dog's room.  It seems that the tension baby gate we had for our other hound, was not actually working for Elvy. She has crawled under the gate, thinking she could easily fit through 7 inches, only to have the whole thing come crashing down upon her, tone nails a-flying, and litterally scare the poop out of  her.....We didn't wish to guess she'd attempt another stunt like that again, so to be safe or safer, we now have a metal wall-mounted swing gate Don installed just yesterday.  She watched the whole installation process!  She'd have to be Houdini to squeeze through 4 inches.  Let's hope she doesn't teach herself to jump 32 inches.

Having fun with our new dog.

Best,
Denise & Don

Here are some pictures of Marigold who is adjusting very well to her new home here in New Hampshire.  We want to thank Dorothy and everyone for such a wonderful experience and it was well worth the trip.
